Hello Australia!
Yeah, I’m here in the Australia territory, making my way to begin a new life, to complete my tertiary studies, and eventually become a successful person, as what I have been dreaming of.
I boarded the flight from KLIA on the 13th of February; it was a night flight, at 9pm. It was a transit flight that was; it stopped at Kuching to pick up the other passengers who were going to Perth. At first I was very worried that I might get lost in the airport and don’t know what to do and where to go as I was traveling alone. But apparently on that day, everything was just fine, I managed to find the way to the boarding gate, and I got on the correct flight, yeah, the one that brought me here. And to my own surprise, I didn’t have any feelings of scared or nervous as what I thought I would have.
I was so lucky to have met 2 friends before I arrived in Perth. The first one is a Chinese girl, from China, name Ying. I met her in KLIA when I was waiting for boarding. She’s also studying at Curtin, doing business 2nd year. And the second one is a Malaysian Chinese girl, Lily, from Bintulu. She boarded at Kuching international airport and sat just beside me in the flight. She’s a very nice girl, pretty, with fair complexion and cute face. She’s very kind and friendly too. She told me lots of stuff about Perth and the place I live, as she has been in Perth for her college studies last year. We have so much to talk about throughout the journey and we are like friends that have known each other for a very long time.
The flight touched down at Perth International Airport on 14th February approximately at 5.05am, and the sky was still dark. After going through the customs, it was already 6.30am. Met with the airport reception people, Eric and was asked to wait in the airport until 7.30am for his second round pick up.
Then I was brought to my on campus accommodation, together with the others. During the journey, I got to know a few new friends from east Malaysia, one from the States and one from China. And I was lucky enough to have one of the east Malaysian friends who is staying in the same residence as me. So, after we have checked in to the housing office and got our keys, I got help from the friend in carrying my heavy luggage up to the second level of my flat…many thanks to him….if not, then I’ll have to find my own way to settle it.
So far I’m happy with the flat I live in, and the room that I will be in for the rest of the year. My flat is very near to the office, so as the main entrance of my university campus. The environment here is great, but as it is still summer, the weather in the first 3 days was much warmer than Malaysia, with the hot sun and warm wind blowing.
That’s about it. I have come all the way from Malaysia to Australia, with just one mission, that is, to complete my degree studies, making the best out of me at the same time, and not letting my family down. I will try my very best to achieve what I am deserved for. Gambateh~
